Heirloom tomatoes, kale pesto vegan tart

I love summer in Europe, for its long long days, hot sunny weather, and superb fruits and vegetables. And one of my favorites that I do miss a lot in Singapore, are vine ripe tomatoes. Don’t get me wrong, we can buy some here… but when you spent your childhood summers picking fresh tomatoes from the garden, buy them from small producers in Provence markets, or eat them straight from the fields in Italy… I guess one could say I am a little picky with tomatoes :)…

So we don’t eat tomatoes everyday here… but once in a while I buy super good – expensive 🙂 – heirloom tomatoes to prepare us a treat.

This time it was a simple kale pesto vegan tart.

Pearl couscous, oranges, mint and feta salad

Living in Singapore, we eat salads all the time. At the moment I love mixing fruits with veggies and grains to create new flavor combinations and twist traditional recipes. It’s the magic of vegetarian and vegan cuisines, anything is possible, you reinvent recipes everyday !

Vegan gluten free 100% chocolate brownies to die for !

Do you crave for chocolate sometimes ?
Me, I do, but for the real dark chocolate indulgence !
Brownies are my go to treat on a rainy day or when I want to indulge myself. But I can never eat brownies I haven’t baked 🙂
First, never vegan, often far too sweet, and almost always loaded with saturated fat…
So I had to find the proper brownie recipe to make my own.
After a few trial I came up with this one, which is also gluten free 🙂 and definitely super super yummy.
Easy as it requires only 6 ingredients and is impossible to fail.

Matcha bliss balls

Bliss balls are my “go to” healthy treat when I want to have a shot of energy before sports or if I had a super light meal and need a boost.

But today I made them to have some healthy snacks in my pockets while attending the kids school fair.

This time I chose the almond hazelnut matcha recipe, to get the extra kick from matcha powder.. and also because I love this recipe !
It was definitely a good idea.. and Rose and Leopold actually ate most of it 🙂

Chickpeaandberries first editorial !

Thrilled to have my first feature in a great magazine !
FemininBio is a French magazine dedicated to healthy and mostly organic lifestyle.
They approached me to feature some of my favorite Instagram posts for their May issue, as well as an editorial about hydratation ! This one was easy, living in Singapore 🙂
Super excited to get my copy and share it with my kids and friends when Romain flew back from Europe.

When you start getting such nice feedbacks about what you do, and most importantly about what you are passionate about, you feel really blessed.
It took me a while before I decided to shift and change life… Some would argue that I lost a lot from a Marketing Director to a self taught home cook, and for a long time it prevented me from moving forward.
But you have to do what feels right, not what others believe is right for you.
I must say I have been also super lucky to have a partner that have been so supportive all my choices so far.
I don’t know yet where my new path will lead me, but I really look forward to the journey !

And as my son rightly told me:
When you love your work, you don’t get to work one single day of your life right ?

Strawberry ballerina smoothie
