Strawberry ballerina smoothie

Homemade smoothies are an excellent source of fibre, vitamins and healthy nutrients.
I love cold pressed juices, but when you blend your fruits you get to keep all the goodness it contains. So I am always super keen to make smoothies for my kids.
Providing you use good ripe fruits you hardly need added sweetener and if you use bananas I really feel you don’t have to add yogurt to get a creamy texture.

Strawberry ballerina smoothie

INGREDIENTS

1,5 cup frozen strawberries

1 ripe frozen banana

1 date or 2 dates (depending on the sweetness of your fruits)

3/4 to 1 cup unsweetened plant milk (homemade is always better :). I recommend coconut milk for this one, but almond is great too.

 

DIRECTIONS

Put all the ingredients except the milk in your hight speed blender.

Mix, add half the plant milk, then add gradually to get the consistency you like.

NOTE 

You can add 1 tbsp of protein powder or some hemp seeds for extra fibers / proteins. It will slightly change the taste though.
